ArtsNEXT Grant Funds Inclusive Chatter Network

The Center for Applied Drama and Autism (CADA) has been awarded a matching grant for $14,122.00 from Ohio Arts Council (OAC). A matching grant means that CADA must raise an additional $14,122.00. These OAC funds have been granted to CADA in order to provide access, training, and experience for disabled and neurodiverse performers in podcasting and social networking. The “Inclusive Chatter Network” (ICN) is an inclusive and expansive concept that can showcase a wide variety of talents and interests.

Over the next month, CADA will be hiring a Lead Producer who will curate ICN’s unique collection of original programming and provide innovative ways to support individual Program Directors to help them participate fully. This support may look like anything from setting up a home studio and troubleshooting assistance, to being a “voice in the ear” of those who cannot read lines or working through anxieties with a personal chat.

“ICN is an opportunity for creative professional development, but it is also a safe online community for connection among people with autism and others in our audience” says Interim Executive Director, Anna-Jeannine Griesacker. “Viewers will have various ways to participate in, connect with, and influence the content.”

Those interested in applying should complete this form. Program Directors who are selected to join the Inclusive Chatter Network will be provided a stipend and project budget based on the scope of their proposed project. Want to watch? Join our Patreon to get in on the fun!

CADA is very grateful to Governor Mike DeWine, Lieutenant Governor Jon Husted, and members of the Ohio General Assembly for acknowledging the importance of public funding for the arts through state budget allocations to OAC. We would like to thank the OAC staff and board for recognizing our artistic contributions and for supporting Ohio communities culturally, educationally, and economically through the arts.

If you would like to support the Center for Applied Drama and Autism’s future, there has never been a better time! Your donation will automatically be matched by the Ohio Arts Council… so donate today.
